Protection training

Decoying & protection
Is a specialized form of training that should only be undertaken with the right dog, by our experienced trainers, and for legitimate purposes. It is essential to prioritize the safety and well-being of the dog and to ensure that the training is conducted responsibly and ethically.

What does this training include?
  • Specialized Training: Protection training should be conducted by experienced trainers who understand the nuances of teaching dogs’ protection skills. It is not recommended for inexperienced dog owners to attempt this training on their own.
  • Purpose: It's typically reserved for specific situations where a dog may need to protect its owner or property, such as in police work, search and rescue, or personal security. Not all dogs are suitable for this type of training, and it should not be used as a form of aggression or intimidation.
  • Temperament: Dogs chosen for protection training must have the right temperament. They should be stable, confident, and have a strong bond with their handler.
  • Commands: Dogs in protection training are taught specific commands to respond to potential threats, such as barking, attacking, biting, and releasing on command. These commands are critical for maintaining control over the dog's actions.
  • Ethical Considerations: The goal is to have a well-trained and disciplined dog, not a dangerous one.
  • Legal Considerations: Every area may have restrictions or requirements for owning and training dogs for protection. It is entirely the dog’s owner responsibility.
